The Typewriter Man
Tim Koch
this song/album is very similar to building dreams in that the lyrics are all pieces of conversation caught by the typewriter that i put together. this song is about a dream i had when i was 14 or so. it was a very meaningful dream, though i didn't know it at the time, but i guess it was meaningful enough so that i remember it seven years later.

I have nothing to say about this song except the accordian part is suite and that eventually I will record trumpet for it and that I love it.... This got moved up some cause I recorded the trumpet and some trombone and saw and some other stuff.

The Delicious Elements
Tim Koch
One day I learned that there used to be a uranium reprocessing plant on central ave. and the site was a federal clean up site where men in crazy suits put the dirt on a train and shipped it to new mexico. so take a deep breath next time you drive east on central.

Like Nothing at All (A singular Being Part I)

Legs diamond was killed while in a drunken sleep. He had just figured everything out and was ready to continue living. This is how i maybe picture his dream.mp3:Like

Josaleur
Tim Koch
Another song written abroad while dreaming and guitarless. It started on the back of a Danish atm receipt and then moved on to wide ruled paper with four holes because denmark doesn't believe in ruling their paper college style. But don't fret, you get used to it by subconsciously writing larger.

The Perspective
Tim Koch
This is actually the oldest song i've written thats posted. it was written when i was still writing songs for my old band, though it was more for myself most of the time. but it dug itself out of the depths of my lyricograph one day and i liked it, so i redid for old dunbar here.

Un na na Nameable
Tim Koch
I decided to give my Tao album another chance, and so this is the second song I've written for it, verse 14. the nana-ers did very well, and Dave didn't even have to take off his pants! Just realize where you come from: this is the essence of wisdom.mp3:

Tomatoes & Radio Wire
Alex Muro
This is one of the first songs to come straight from the attic, maybe the first. Its for a friend of mine. Its also for Goldaline. This has, so far, the best record of the impact of mr.Louis on the hobo banned, which is and was much greater than this website would make evident. Its also the begining of a trend toward more instruments and all the songs I write having trumpet.mp3:

I Live in a House(This Side of Time)

After having an apple thrown at me while riding my bike home i decided to write a lovingly hateful song about people i didn't know who threw apples at me, but it turned out to be for people i didn't know who didn't throw apples at me.

Requiem
Adam ZurZurBragg
One night a while back, Dave and I were talking about Sgt. Dunbar the man and wondering what he might be up to nowadays. I figured it was entirely possible that he has since died, and wrote a requiem in his memory. Of course, it's just as likely that he's still alive, in which case this isn't a requiem at all but a song about loss and disillusionment. Thanks to Tim for some of the cool harmonies and mastering.

This is Called the Subtle Perception of the Way Things Are
Tim Koch
I wrote this song based on verse 36 of Lao Tzu's 'Tao Te Ching' and then immediately decided I was going to write a full album based chronologically through the pages of the book. Then it got all crazy with adam's guitar parts and so I dont think I'm pink floyd enough to write a full album that could go along with it. but maybe I'll become a genius.mp3:

Intelligent Design

Like most of my songs lately this one has been a long time coming to its digital version. This song is about believing things kinda. You gotta do it sometimes but make guidelines or something.com I don't really know how to put it. There is no truth.mp3:

the toaster drum and tension balls still made it into the new version, the only difference is way better trumpet, thanks to the great Sweet Lou making a trip from Boston to record.

Like Nothing at All (A Singular Being, pt. 3)
Tim Koch
This is the 3rd part of a 3 parter about Kennedy's "Legs", the first part in his Albany triology of novels. being the 3rd part of 3 about life, it's mostly about death. each of the three songs, though one isn't done yet, has a description of one of the three bullets that went through Legs Diamonds head, this particular one not making it all the way through.

A View From A Window
Dan Pardee
This song is really about coveting, and the fact that it has nothing to do with proximity. You can covet anything regardless of its connection to you; strangers, friends, lovers.... You might love someone deeply whom you’ve never met, this song is about the distance between people and the love that exists within it. You might also want to take a look at Morning in a City, or any other Edward Hopper painting.

Network In the Sky
Tim Koch & Dan Pardee
It seems that you can't be a human these days unless you've got a piece of plastic with an antenna attached to your ear. The truth is that the more we use satellites to mediate our intimacy, the greater distance we actually put between each other. That's not to say that technology isn't amazing, it's just a comment on one of the many paradoxes that are perpetuated through our pursuit of an allegedly more connected world.
